Equipment planning guide
When to finance floor-preparation equipment
Financing can help a contractor put needed machinery into service while preserving cash—but only when the equipment, workload and provider terms make sense together.

The decision begins with production—not the monthly payment. Define what the machine changes for the crew, then evaluate the full cost and financing offer.
Signals that equipment may be worth evaluating
Steady utilization
The crew repeatedly rents or needs the same equipment across scheduled work.
Costly downtime
An unreliable or undersized machine threatens production, schedule or labor efficiency.
Added capacity
A second crew or larger project type requires another complete preparation setup.
Cash priorities
The business wants to retain working capital for payroll, materials, vehicles or active jobs.
Compare ownership with the real alternative
Estimate rental expense, transport, availability risk, labor impact, maintenance and the jobs that may be delayed or declined. Then compare those factors with purchase price, financing cost, insurance, storage, tooling, upkeep and expected resale value. A payment by itself does not show total cost.
Define the complete equipment package
A grinder without matched tooling, dust extraction, hoses, power planning and jobsite support is not a complete production plan. The same applies to scrubbers and other machines. Build the package around the intended floor sizes, coatings being removed, power available, crew and transportation.
Stress-test the business case
- How many realistic production days will the machine support each month?
- What revenue or labor assumption changes if the pipeline slows?
- Who will transport, maintain and operate the equipment?
- What consumables and wear parts must be stocked?
- Can the business carry the obligation through a slower season?
- What do the provider’s total payments, fees and conditions amount to?
Know who handles each part
U.S. Resin Supply can help define equipment and package needs. The external financing provider handles the application, credit review, approval, rates, documentation and terms. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Make the next step deliberate
First confirm the equipment plan and obtain the information needed to evaluate it. Then review financing alongside cash purchase, rental and other available options. Proceed only when both the machine and the provider offer fit the business.
